2020 Guidelines for Submission

Submission Instructions

Due date: Monday, March 30th by 5PM Eastern Time, USA.

 

• This process is by invitation-only to current grantee partners. 

 

• Lambent will be awarding annual (12-month cycle), project-specific and/or general operating grants.

NOTE: Lambent prefers that you submit a 2020 project-specific financial request that includes admin and overhead. However, if you need general operating support, please make a strong case in your narrative.  

 

• Grant requests may range up to $100,000 USD but should be in line with past year(s) support. If you are requesting a higher amount than in prior years, please advocate clearly for your increase. 

 

• To submit a proposal, you must use Lambent Foundation’s online webform. The online application portal will open on March 2nd. We will send an email update at that time.

NOTE: Your proposal will not automatically save as you complete the webform. To ensure a backup of your work, please compose and save your responses in a separate document. Then copy and paste all responses into the online web form when you are ready to submit your proposal. 

 

• You are required to use Lambent’s financial report/budgetary template spreadsheet to: 1) report on your 2019 activities and 2) request 2020 Lambent Foundation support. View and download the spreadsheet template here.

NOTE: This document is a template and can not be directly edited. Please see form instructions on the first tab of the budget document in order to make your own copy. All financial reports/budgets must be submitted in PORTRAIT ORIENTATION as PDF Files. Other formats will NOT be accepted.

 

A complete proposal MUST include the following: 

1. Organizational Information → Basic contact data and mission statement.

2. Financial Information → 2019 financial reports (use of Lambent monies and organizational budget) and 2020 proposed budgets (use of Lambent monies and organizational budget).

3. Narrative Prompts → Written responses to questions regarding 2019 activities and 2020 requested funds.

4. Optional Supplemental Materials → Lambent prefers digital documents. Please do not mail physical objects and materials as our storage space is limited. All materials related to your reports or proposal should be emailed to [email protected].

Lambent looks to your organizational and/or project-specific narratives for insights about the health, trends, and concerns that inform the broader landscapes and local ecologies where you live and work: New York, New Orleans, and Nairobi. Please consider this narrative an opportunity to share your thoughts about how your practice aligns with Lambent’s mission to illuminate the intersection of art and social justice.
